Revive Chalky Furniture Paint has been specially formulated to cover almost any surface without any preparation. It’s tough and durable, provides easy to apply, scratch resisting protection, and can transform the look of any project.

    PREPARATION

    For a distressed finish; The surface should be thoroughly cleaned, dry and free from contamination such as grease, waxes or polish. Wash with mild detergent solution, rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry. For a solid finish; Smooth surfaces should be lightly abraded with affine waterproof abrasive paper to provide a key. If covering previously painted surface, remove any flaking or blistering areas. A gain rub down well with a fine waterproof abrasive paper. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding to avoid the inhalation of dust. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead. For further advice contact Technical Advisory.

    APPLICATION

    For a distressed finish; Apply 2 coats of the same or contrasting coloured or metallic paint, allow 4 hours between coats. Lightly sand to distress edges and reveal layers. For a solid finish; Apply 2 coats, allowing 4 hours between coats. We recommend that you complete and protect your furniture with a choice of Johnstone’s Revive Finishing Waxes.

    CLEANING

    Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Wash immediately after use in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
